Administering eye drops to your cat

Make sure that you wash your hands both before and after administering the medication to prevent the spread of infection.

If you are administering the medication on your own, you may find it easiest to place your cat in your lap. If your cat’s eye is painful, you may need to have someone assist you in restraining your cat by wrapping it in a blanket with only the head exposed.

Instructions

  • Make sure you have carefully read the label and understand the dosing instructions.
  • Hold the bottle using your thumb and index finger.
  • Use the last two fingers of the same hand to pull back the upper eyelid. Place your remaining fingers under the cat’s jaw to support the head. The lower eyelid will act as a pouch to receive the drops.
  • Hold the bottle close to the eye but ensure you DO NOT touch the eye’s surface.
  • Squeeze the prescribed number of drops onto the eyeball, aiming for the center of the eye, and then release the head.
  • The cat will blink, spreading the medication over the surface of the eye.

We all agree that our pets are a family member(s).

When they need to see a doctor, we can’t rest until they have the care they deserve.

This is why Dr. Royster will be available for his  patients needs.

The following Steps must be taken to keep you and our Team safe from exposure.

Call our hospital and  make an appointment.

When you arrive, go to  our back parking lot . Please park facing our back door and call our phone number,

we can send a staff member out.

Cat Appointments

Cats must be in a secure cat carrier.Please bring your cat to the Blue tent. Please do not go back to your car until we have your cat.

Dogs Appointments:

Please bring your dog to the Blue tent.

Please have your dog on a secure leash have them sit and stay. Please no harness. It is difficult to take a harness off  when we have our leash on your dog.

Our staff member will loop our leash around the neck. Then please bring your dog back to you and release your leash.

Staff members will be gloved & masked.

We ask that you please wear a mask and gloves. Any type of glove as long as your hands our covered. Rubber,Garden or even winter gloves. Thank you

 

 Please  remain in your car in  our parking lot.

 Dr. Royster   will call your cell with his diagnose and treatment plan and answer any questions you may have.

 Payment will be done over the phone.

We accept all credit cards or Debt card.

We no longer take cash or checks for payment.

If you have a sick pet and you normally go to another Veterinarian and they are closed, we  are here to help you and your pet.

For routine matters  please wait until your normal veterinarian has re-opened.

These steps will be followed if you are picking up medication and/or food.
